"Mom, what's a yeggie?"

"A...what? I have no idea what that is."

"MOM! You know. YEGGIE. It's the valuable snowman."

(aka the abominable snowman, aka yeti.)

Brianna:  "Mom, how do you make cheese?"

Me: *shrugs* "Look it up on the internet."

Josh: "That's a funny way to make cheese."

...Bazinga.

Uh oh, I think he's on to me.

Josh: "Why is it jammie (pajama) time?"

Me: "Because it's jammie time."

(pause)

Josh: "It's jammie time because it's jammie time? That's weird."

Miscellaneous

ON SECRETS...
"Mom, can we have ice cream when we get home?"
"I don't think we have any ice cream."
"Daddy bought some when you weren't there."
(pause)
"Uh, wait. Daddy said I wasn't s'posed to tell that."

ON HAIRCUTS...
"My brain doesn't like it when you cut my hair that way."

There was at least one more good one this week, but I forgot to write it down!

Josh: "Choose a stick, mom! Do you want the long one or the short one?"

Me: "I want the long one."

Josh: "No! Choose a different one."

...what??

Out of the clear blue sky, just now...

"JP [a friend of ours] can stay overnight and keep an eye on the magnets while we sleep."

Um...okay. Why does this sound ominous?

Christmas in April?

We were at Perkins last night, and Josh spotted this couple in the booth across the aisle.

"Hey! It's Santa!!"

"...and he has a new hat!"

"Maybe he got it for Christmas!"

I seriously thought Levi was going to fall out of the booth laughing.

In the car

Josh: (points to his elbow) "...and this is my shoulder."

Brianna: (points to her shoulder): "No, THIS is your shoulder."

Josh: (cackles madly) No!!  Brianna, that's YOUR shoulder!!"

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Josh: "Me and grandpa Jack saw peckers!!!"

Me: "You mean you saw woodpeckers?"

Josh: "No, just peckers."

"You're Awesome"

My aunt is playing with Josh at one of our many Christmas get-togethers scheduled over the next week...

Josh:  You're awesome!

Tamara: Why thank you! You're pretty cute.

Josh: I know I am.

Everybody dies laughing.

Let's Pretend

"Here, Mommy, you be Tigger and I'll be Pooh. Kay. Now, Tigger will be Gramma and Pooh is Joshua!"

Monday, August 16, 2010

That's....Good...?

(How could I have forgotten this one? Josh has been declaring this at the top of his lungs at every diaper change for the past two weeks.)

"I LOVE MY STINKY SMELL!!!"

Facepalm.

p.s. I totally wish I could post a video of him dancing around naked this morning, but I'd probably get arrested or something. :(

"hey!"

Yesterday afternoon, Levi and I deemed the Big Boy Bed "experiment" a success, dismantled ad stored Josh's crib and rearranged the furniture in his room a bit. This was cause for much exclamation yesterday when he got home from daycare, but it was this morning that really killed me:

Josh stumbles out of bed (not quite awake yet), eats breakfast, heads back to his room to get dressed, stops dead in the doorway and yells,

"Hey! My room is still different!"

Wagon

Our local pizza place has wagons on their boxes.

"Mommy, what's that?"

"It's a wagon, dear."

"Nooooo...it's a train!"

"No, it's a wagon. Can you say con-es-toga wagon?"

"NO! It's a big wagon!"

(pause)

"Can you say that, mommy?"
